We're terrible at updating this blog!

Hey Everyone! Given all the madness of this year we have neglected this site a bit, so I'm here to give you a little refresh if you haven't been keeping up to date with us on our socials.

So what has happened on 2020 so far? We hit 2020 off with a bang with a new single in the form of 'Haunting Me'. The new sound was well received and 2020 was looking bright for gigs. Then the dreaded COVID-19 virus hit. All of our shows cancelled, the whole live scene was dealt a huge blow, and everything started looking bleak, with most people being furloghed or having their shifts cut. This gave people alot of time on thier hands, which allowed musicians like ourselves to put out content which we generally wouldnt have the time to do otherwise. Thus came the Reimagined Sessions - 3 of our tracks reimagined into different styles to bring new life to older tracks. The Reimagined Sessions were recorded, produced and mastered by ourselves. Shortly after, we dropped our cover of Post Malone's 'Rockstar'. We never thought this was something we’d put out, it was always a track we'd throw into our set when on tours to give new fans in the audience something to sing along to without knowing our tracks, so it was cool to turn it into something more than just that.

As the lockdown lifted, we managed to get some studio time with the sound wizard that is Simon Jackman. Simon worked with us on 'Haunting Me' and this is the sound we are going to be going with moving forward, so it was a no brainer to go with Simon again.

This entire period was a very strange one for DD due to line up change with members. Sadly, Steve left Delayed Departure. It was very much a mutual agreement, and there’s nothing but love and respect between all members. Ryan Fielder then joined us a couple of months later, and we’re very happy to have him. So what's next for us, you ask? We are busy writing more music than ever right now, and we can tell you for sure we’re working on some of the best songs we’ve ever written. We’re also getting our new live set all ready for the day we can play shows for you all again, and new music will be coming out soon. That’s about as much as we can reveal at the moment, it’s all very hush-hush...

We are very proud to announce that our 3rd EP "Your Colours" is out now from all good music platforms!

We’re Moving Fast!

So within a month we have imparted the information that we have our new EP ‘Your Colours’ coming out set for release on the 19th October, the amazing artwork Make North created for us, the track listing and finally given you guys a taster of what is to come with the ‘Neon Lights’ music video. Did you like what you hear? Well I’ll tell you what, that is just the beginning. Will the other songs on the EP sound like a carbon copy of ‘Neon Lights’? Not at all. If you have followed us for a while you know it is not our style to churn out 6 songs which all sound exactly the same, we want to mix things up, take a risk and most of all create interesting and diverse music. Back to the original point, have you even watched the music video? No? Then what on earth are you waiting for, get on it now!

A huge thank you again to Patrik for making this such an easy process, we had the entire music video filmed in just a few hours which is just a reflection of his professionalism and dedication when working on a project. We have some other really exciting announcements coming soon and are flattered by the messages we’ve received about this new song, I’m so glad you guys are happy we are back making music because there is nothing else we would all rather do. We are really trying to push our music far and wide and really appreciate it when you guys share it on your social media, talk about it with your friends and family, even if it’s just showing it to your dog.... we love dogs... do it and then take a picture and send it to us. I didn’t want to write too much because there is so much that has happened recently and there is still so much more to come, if you enjoy our music make sure you keep following us because this is just the beginning.
